Building a Community Through Literacy
If you are looking for a way to get your students excited about reading while building a sense of community within your school, consider running a One School, One Book program! We have had the opportunity to provide this experience for our students at the elementary and intermediate levels and can show you some strategies you can use to get everything you will need in order to engage your students and their families in a successful school-wide literacy event.
Presented by: Heather White, Pocono Mountain School District and Victoria Savo, Pocono Mountain School District
Mini Regional Leaders Academy Gallery Crawl
21 librarians who participated in the Mini Regional Leaders Academy each developed a Personalized Learning Experience, pitched it to their principals for support, and carried out a new program idea that creates positive awareness of the value of the school library. Join these leaders in a gallery walk to view their informative posters and discuss informally how they implemented a diversity of new ideas.
Presented by: Dr. Mary Kay Biagini, University of Pittsburgh
